How we pack a bike
We drain most of the fuel, remove the mirrors and wrap the tank, headlight, indicators and silencer in foam and bubble wrap, then cover the whole bike in corrugated sheets. It travels upright, tied down in a closed truck, so it is protected from rain and road dust.
Bike transport charges
Moving a standard bike costs about ₹3,000–5,000 for up to 500 km, rising with distance. Superbikes and premium motorcycles that need wooden crating cost more. See bike transport rates.
Documents
Keep a copy of the RC, insurance and PUC with the bike and your ID handy. If you are relocating to another state for good, you will need a no-objection certificate (NOC) from the Delhi transport department and re-registration in the new state within 12 months.
